Comments: This is now a joke for our family so i thought this would be a fun place to share it as well!... I have a ton of family that reside in Colorado Springs, and finally last July 2009, 4 and a half years after i started dating my internet business owner boyfriend (this will become important in just a few sentences), he finally agreed to go visit them with me for my grandma's 75th birthday. As part of our vacation, we decided to tour the caves with one of my aunts and cousin. It was magnificent!! We enjoyed every room in the cave -- one more so then others!! When we arrived in the small room with a sheet of plastic hanging, hiding a bunch of metal we had no idea what was going on. It was then that the guide explained the story of the 2 single sisters who found this room boring and decided to leave a hair clip returning the next year married to wealthy men. They continued to say that if you left a piece of metal in the room legend says you will return a year later a wealthy married woman. Well this excited me and i believed that it called for an enthusiastic woo hoo -- and so i delivered! Unfortunately i was without metal -- what to do? So my gracious aunt gave me a "Bobby" pin and I wore my new "bobby" pin with pride just until i exited the cave, leaving it hanging with all the other metal pieces. Just before exciting Bob, my boyfriend, and i posed for a picture with my ringless hand.... We'll skip to October 14th 2009, just 3 months after my visit to the caves, i was surprised with a beautiful diamond!! Was it a gift from my then fiance or just part of the legend?? I'm not sure, but as of April 24th 2010 just 3 months shy of a one year visit to the caves, i became Mrs. Egizi!!! I have to believe it had something to do with that old legend, and so did the guests who brought us wedding gifts all the way from the Cave of the Winds!!!!!

What is your name? John Southworth
Where are you from? Coon Rapids, MN
Comments: My girlfriend and Mother visited the Cave of the Winds on Tuesday August 12th, 2008. It was one of the first things we did on our visit to Colorado. It was very cool, literally. 54 degrees is what we were told was the temperature in the caves. There were some very interesting areas in the cave. I must say, my personal favorite was the point where we were all exposed to "Complete Darkness" for a few moments. You will never experience that kind of darkness ever again. It was very cool. I would recommend that any family or couple taking a trip to the Colorado Springs area should visit the Cave of the Winds. Dollar for dollar, it's a pretty good value compared to some other tourist attractions. I would go back!!!

Comments: I visited Cave Of The Winds in 1978. I particularly liked the story of the electrician who knocked down a stalagtite and was killed. As the story goes he tried to reach up and break another. I saw a stalagmite that looked like an arm and hand. Also a place where people put hair ties and barrets....its been 30 years....I would love to go back.
